There's some serious buzz going on in regards to the beta for Rise of Kunark! Calthine from Allakhazam.com wrote up a great article about this craze and answered some questions that have been plaguing some of our players about the whole thing. There has been a huge scandal brewing over at the EVE Online official site. It is long and complicated, but basically, developers who played the game revealed themselves to be developers, and illicitly helped their friends within the game. You can get the entire story by reading the thread, but suffice to say, it is bad.

Travelling to Reykjavik, Iceland, Stratics Central attended this year's EVE Fanfaire. The piece discusses the recently announced CCP-White Wolf merger, EVE: The Second Genesis, and drunken hijinks. Check it out.

EVE Online developer CCP and Card Based RPG publisher White Wolf have announced that they will be merging into one company. No word on how this will affect EVE Online, or if any new titles will be planned. Click read more for the full info.

The combined company will introduce new online and offline gaming products across the science-fiction, horror, and fantasy genres.

CCP has updated the EVE Online Fanfest 2006 webpage with more information about the tournament prizes, roundtable discussions and other events as well as a Fanfest FAQ. Check out the new info if you plan to attend.

Eve Online has gone live in China, and it seems the Chinese are taking to the game very well. Over 20,000 players have participated in the game so far. Click read more for the full press info.

Shanghai, China – June 13, 2006 – The first day of EVE Online’s open Beta in China resulted in a new world record for the number of simultaneous users playing in the same game world, as more than 30,000 users logged into the game server just hours after opening. CCP Games, an independent producer of massively multiplayer online games and producer of EVE Online, also announced that over 200,000 players from China registered for the game during the first day of the of the open Beta.
